Like good wine, Extra Virgin Olive Oil adopts different characteristics depending on the variety, mix or harvest conditions of a particular year. Lucy's Run Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2009 is a delicious oil made from Frantoia olives grown in the Hunter Valley and cold-pressed on site at Lucy's Run. The lifted aroma of freshly-cut grass distinguishes this oil as light but with a freshness of flavour. The fresh fruity taste is balanced by a bitey pungency for complexity in the form of pepperiness and a pleasant bitterness that leaves a clean finish in the mouth. Lucy's Run Extra Virgin Olive Oil is great dipped with fresh crust bread and either eaten plain or dipped into dukkah. Particularly yummy as a salad dressing when shaken with lemon or lime juice plus herbs and black pepper or drizzled over hot vegies. ENJOY ! ! !
Two styles of delicious olives are available : Black Olives Marinated in Chilli, Garlic, Oregano, and a slurp of Lucy's Run Shiraz packed in 250ml jars and Green Jumbo Kalamatas in Mustard Seed, Garlic, Chilli, and a dash of Lucy's Run Verdelho in big 700ml jar to fit the bigger olives in! YUMM ! ! !
This is a blend of toasted nuts, toasted spices and sesame seeds that tastes fabulous with fresh bread dipped in Lucy's Run Extra Virgin Olive Oil.Then dip the oiled bread in the dukkah for an aromatic crunchy coating. Also try coating lamb loins with the Dunbar Dukkhah before BBQing. Then slice thinly and arrange on a fresh salad with a simple dressing of oil and lemon juice. (Dukkah originates from the Middle east/Mediterranean but we call it Dunbar Dukkah after our big bull. We feel it should be pronounced ''duck-ah" to ryhme with Dunbah - to give an Australian twang to it!) DELICIOUS!! |
